Girth Welds


Axalta offers a two-part liquid epoxy material, FBE and epoxy patch compounds for repair of Nap-Gard® coated pipe or rebar and for field joint coatings of external girth welds. Select systems are formulated to offer excellent cathodic disbondment performance for temperatures up to 150°C (302°F).

It is designed for repair of damaged fusion bonded epoxy (FBE) and other liquid applied pipeline coatings where quick curing and handling is required.

Nap-Gard® 7-1861 is a 100% solids, epoxy coating used for below ground corrosion control on pipe, piping assemblies, valve assemblies, pipe components, girth welds, horizontal directional drilling (HDD) pipe, HDD girth welds, and tank linings. Nap-Gard® 7-1861 is available in Spray Grade & Brush Grade, and Cartridge.

Nap-Gard® 7-1862, 7-1868 and 7-1854 are formulated for Field Coating of Girth Welds and coating repair for Nap-Gard® 7-2610 or 7-2617 coated pipe.
