But bodyshop managers know that refinish training can mean downtime in the bodyshop and may involve costly travel. So Axalta developed its e-learning platforms for Cromax, Spies Hecker and Standox.
These are designed to help maximise refinishers’ productivity and to reduce bodyshop downtime. They deliver essential theoretical refinish expertise in fun, dynamic and interactive online packages that can be accessed whenever it is convenient. They give bodyshops the flexibility to train refinishers cost-effectively in the bodyshop, and at their own pace. And bodyshop managers can plan training according to workload, helping to maintain resources for optimal throughput and productivity.
Participants have to achieve an 80 per cent pass rate or more to qualify as an e-Certified Painter and they’re then invited to a practical Skills Assessment Day, which, if they pass, qualifies them as a Fully Certified Painter. Our expert technicians are also available through branded online videos that focus on everyday repair methods, showing the correct use of our paint products and application processes. The videos are completely unscripted.
Everything is shown as it happens: from the colour reading on the substrate, to the setting of the spray gun, making them an authentic, invaluable resource for refinishers. We also provide important OEM aftermarket repair guidelines so that bodyshops can carry out repairs to the exacting standards the OEMs require.
