Glass & Luxury Packaging

Eleglas is a range of high performance coatings for application to glass, plastics and other substrates for the luxury packaging and associated markets. Both water based and solvent based products are available.

From glass bottles to plastic caps and closures, many premium brands of cosmetics and luxury beverages already benefit from the excellent application and performance properties offered by Eleglas products.

While coatings can be specially designed to suit a manufacturer’s coating process, application by a range of methods including electrostatic disc, electrostatic ice bell and conventional methods are standard for most products. Stoving and force drying products are all available depending on production requirements. Air drying products are also available for plastic substrates.

The Eleglas range includes clear, tinted, opaque and metallic products in both gloss and matt finishes, together with special finishes such as soft touch, stone effect and textured coatings.

In addition to glass and plastics, Eleglas can be applied to ceramics, metals and a range of other materials.

Eleglas W31

Eleglas W31 is an economical single component, water based stoving polymer for glass and other substrates, which is available as mixing bases to produce transparent, opaque and metallic coatings, in both gloss and matt finishes.

Eleglas W35

Eleglas W35 is a single component, clear, water based stoving polymer, formulated to produce a high gloss, scuff resistant film on glass and other substrates. It has excellent adhesion to glass and metals without requiring an adhesion promoter. For tinted, rather than clear finishes, see Eleglas W31 or W211.

Eleglas W211

Eleglas W211 is a single component, acrylic water based stoving polymer for glass and other substrates, which combines fast physical drying with excellent application properties. It is available as mixing bases to produce transparent, opaque and metallic coatings, in both gloss and matt finishes.

Eleglas W801

Eleglas W801 is a water based polymer, which adheres directly on to glass without the requirement for primers. It is used to produce special finishes for luxury glass packaging, including soft touch, textured and stone effect finishes.

Eleglas W802 Fragment Shield

Eleglas W802 is a patented, water based Glass Retentive coating. Due to its high film strength, it has the ability to maintain the integrity of glass items in the event of breakage, holding glass fragments together, to prevent spillage of dangerous contents or the distribution of glass shards.

Eleglas W273

Eleglas W273 is a single component, water based, air drying polymer, for use on plastic caps and closures in the luxury beverage, food and cosmetic industries. It is available in a range of mixing bases to produce transparent, opaque and metallic coatings, in both gloss and matt finishes.

Eleglas V22

Eleglas V22 is a single component, solvent based, physically drying acrylic coating, used for a variety of plastic substrates, and usually as a base coat for Eleglas V40 or V41. It can be used on solvent sensitive plastics and has high alcohol resistance. It is available in a range of mixing bases to produce transparent, opaque and metallic coatings, in both gloss and matt finishes.

Eleglas V40

Eleglas V40 is a two component, solvent based PUR air drying or force drying coating, used on a wide variety of substrates using Eleglas V22 as a primer. It has excellent adhesion properties together with superb colour and gloss retention, so can be used for interior and exterior exposed applications.

Eleglas V41

Eleglas V41 is a two component, solvent based PUR stoving coating, used on a wide variety of substrates using Eleglas V22 as a primer. It has been tested to a range of USA and Canadian specifications, including for aviation fuel.  It has excellent adhesion properties together with superb colour and gloss retention, so can be used for interior and exterior exposed applications.

Eleglas V90

Eleglas V90 is a two component, PUR solvent based coating with high film build and excellent adhesion. It has excellent resistance to weathering and chemicals, and is suitable for demanding applications such as dishwasher resistance. It is available in a range of finishes including gloss, matt, transparent and opaque.
