Corroless™

CCI's

Corroless™ Corrosion Inhibitors (CCI's) are a group of products based on anticorrosive volatile compounds, known as Vapour Corrosion Inhibitors (commonly called VCI's). Normal coatings provide anticorrosive protection mainly by forming a physical barrier - the paint layer. VCI's contain compounds that evaporate, or vapourise, to form an anticorrosive 'gas' in an air space, which helps prevent metal components from rusting. VCI's can therefore be used to protect metal areas that would be impossible to paint, either because they are inaccessible (internal pipework, inside a marine engine) or because painting would not be suitable (such as an electrical circuit board, an electrical supply box). CCI's are available as powder, or powder-containing 'devices', to protect dry spaces; as oils and greases for mechanical internals, ropes, winches; as temporary preservation coatings for metal items in storage; and as hydrotest additives (mainly for offshore use) that can be discharged into the marine environment.

CCI devices

Corroless™ CCI Devices are delivery mechanisms for Corroless™ CCI powder, a vapour phase corrosion inhibitor (VCI) for steel and other metals, providing up to 2 years protection. They have adhesive backing for fixing inside metal enclosures. The devices form a convenient way to provide VCI protection for enclosed items such as electrical junction boxes, navigation equipment, switchgear, fire and safety warning systems and computer equipment. The VCI vapour does not affect the electrical resistance or conductivity of metal components. It also does not affect rubbers, polymers, paints or plastics. The devices also assist in preventing dissimilar metal corrosion.

CCI powder

Corroless™ CCI powder is a finely divided solid which gradually volatilises, producing a vapour which protects steel and other metals from corrosion. It is primarily intended for use in the offshore industry where plant is temporarily taken out of service and requires anticorrosive protection during downtime. Corroless™ CCI power can be blown into pipework, void spaces, box sections and similar, where normal anticorrosive protection would be impossible. It can be discharged into the marine environment (subject to normal legislative restrictions) and it has been accepted onto the ‘List for Approved Products suitable for use by the North Sea Oil and Gas Industry’ and is OCNS registered.

Ceranamel XT-40S

CCI fuel additive

A blend of liquid and vapour phase corrosion inhibitors (VCI) in a light mineral oil, developed for protection of fuel tanks. Works by both contact and vapour phase inhibition. Can be used for both empty, partially full and full tanks and has no adverse effect on the stored fuel.

CCI 250

Corroless™ CCI 250 is a concentrated water-borne, vapour phase corrosion inhibitor (VCI), developed for interior use on steel, providing up to 2 years protection. Its primary use is as a hydrotest additive in the offshore industry. It protects by both contact and vapour phase inhibition, so it provides anticorrosive protection both above and below the water line of hydrotest fluid. Corroless™ CCI 250 can be discharged into the marine environment (subject to normal legislative restrictions) and has been accepted onto the ‘List for Approved Products suitable for use by the North Sea Oil and Gas Industry’. Other applications include steel coils and stacks, steel components, pump and valve internals, enclosed cooling water systems and radiators. It can be applied by brushing, spraying, dipping, flooding or fogging.

CCI 300M

Corroless™ CCI 300M is a vapour phase corrosion inhibitor (VCI) for adding to lubricating and hydraulic oils. Typical uses include the internal protection of compressors, engines, generators, hydraulic and lube oil systems. The VCI can protect metal areas where the oil has drained away, so that all interior components can be protected. Corroless™ CCI 300M is compatible with all mineral, and most synthetic, oils (but not transformer oils or glycol-based lubricants). It can provide anticorrosive protection to a variety of metals for up to 2 years.

CCI 350

Corroless™ CCI 350 is a blend of vapour phase corrosion inhibitor (VCI) and specially selected oils and waxes. It is a lubricating and anticorrosion grease, suitable for equipment both in operation and in storage, giving up to 4 years protection. It is effective even when moisture, rust and oil are already present. Typical uses include chains, wire ropes, conveyors, spindles and open gearing.

A blend of clear resins and vapour phase corrosion inhibitor (VCI), developed for use where a clear lacquer is required, so that the substrate remains visible for inspection.

Primers

From the 1950's, Corroless™ has specialised in rust stabilising primers, containing the unique Corroless™ pigment. Preparation by blast cleaning is often impossible or undesirable, yet long term protection is still required over a hand-prepared, rusty steel substrate. Our special Corroless™ primers have proved themselves over 'rusty' steelwork, time and again, over many decades. Engineers have often specified Corroless™ primers repeatedly, based on their successful experiences, in the real world, over many years.

Corroless™ EPF

Corroless™ EPF has been a key product in the Corroless™ range for many decades and has a range of outstanding properties. It has an excellent track record on bridge maintenance painting projects where blast cleaning was impossible, and yet longer term performance was required over only hand-prepared steelwork. Giving very high film build by brush, Corroless™ EPF contains Corroless™ rust stabilising pigment for long term anticorrosive protection. It also contains self-leafing glass flake for improved impermeability. It has a specially designed tar-free resin system and can be applied to damp steel surfaces. Corroless™ EPF has undergone extensive, independent testing and has gained approvals from: UK Network Rail for bridges and other steelwork; to DEFSTAN and MIL specs for bulk fuel tank interiors (together with Corroless™ RF35 White); and it also has a designated NATO stock number. Typical applications include bridges, ballast tanks, sheet piling and jetties, as well as for coating concrete and other selected substrates.

A tough, abrasion resistant, single pack acrylic safe rust stabilising primer, designed for the DIY and automotive restoration markets. Containing Corroless™ pigment, it is designed to penetrate firmly-adhered rust and will withstand operating temperatures up to 200°C. It has over 30 years track record in corrosion control. It has excellent wetting properties and is ideal for general maintenance. Available in Aerosols and cans.

Corroless™ QDR is a very fast drying, general purpose anticorrosive primer for hand-prepared steelwork, containing Corroless™ rust stabilising pigment. It also contains self-leafing glass flake for improved impermeability and abrasion resistance. Overcoating times typically start at only 30 minutes, enabling a rapid build-up of a repair system in a very short time, for situations where fast turn-round times preclude normal overcoating intervals. Topcoats

Corroless™ topcoats have been designed to optimise the effect of Corroless™ primers, to provide an excellent, complete Corroless™ system. Unlike traditional topcoats, Corroless™ topcoats have been reinforced with glass flake, to increase durability and the impermeability to moisture, for greater anticorrosive protection.

Corroless™ RF16

Corroless™ RF16 is a glossy, high build alkyd topcoat, used for Corroless™ primer and build coat systems, as well as a general purpose finish. Its high build application ability reduces project costs, and it contains glass flake for increased impermeability. It has fast drying characteristics compared to other high build alkyd finishes, to minimise the possibility of dust contamination shortly after application. Typical applications include fire escapes, pipes, mechanical equipment, bridges and general steelwork.

Corroless™ RF16

Corroless™ RF16 is a glossy, high build alkyd topcoat, used for Corroless™ primer and build coat systems, as well as a general purpose finish. Its high build application ability reduces project costs, and it contains glass flake for increased impermeability. Corroless™ RF31

Corroless™ RF31 is a high solids, glass reinforced, chemically resistant two pack epoxy. It cures down to 2 degrees centigrade, and withstands most greases, and immersion in oil and aliphatic solvents. It is a highly durable finish giving excellent protection in aggressive environments. Note - all epoxy topcoats will turn matt ('chalk') on exterior exposure. If cosmetic finish is paramount, use a two pack polyurethane topcoat such as RF61 or RF65.

Corroless™ RF35 White

Corroless™ RF35 White is a solvent-less (i.e. extremely high solids), two component epoxy tank lining, for the internal coating of aviation and bulk fuel tanks. Applied over Corroless™ EPF, it is approved for the interior of bulk fuel tanks including aviation fuel (MIL-PRF-4556F and DEF STAN 80/97). It is reinforced with self-leafing glass flake for increased impermeability. It is not suitable for use with petrol. Applications include fuel tanks, non-potable water tanks, pipe linings, cargo holds, sewage works, etc.

Corroless™ RF35 White

Corroless™ RF35 White is a solvent-less (i.e. extremely high solids), two component epoxy tank lining, for the internal coating of aviation and bulk fuel tanks. Applied over Corroless™ EPF, it is approved for the interior of bulk fuel tanks including aviation fuel (MIL-PRF-4556F and DEF STAN 80/97). Corroless™ RF35 (2022) is a solvent-less (i.e. extremely high solids), two component epoxy tank lining for the internal coating of water tanks. It is reinforced with self-leafing glass flake for increased impermeability. Applications include water tanks, pipe linings, cargo holds, sewage works and reservoir tunnels and shafts.

Corroless™ RF65

Corroless™ RF65 is an acrylic polyurethane topcoat with a Semi-Gloss finish, which also has glass flake reinforcement for increased durability. Two pack polyurethane topcoats have excellent colour and gloss retention, to keep coated steelwork looking good for years to come. They also have good chemical resistance properties. Corroless™ RF65 is designed for application over suitable Corroless™ primers and intermediates and is suitable for urban, marine and industrial environments. It is indefinitely overcoatable with itself. Typical applications include bridges, pipework, cranes, mechanical equipment, storage tank exteriors, chemical plants and other structural steel.

Corroless™ RF65 is an acrylic polyurethane topcoat with a Semi-Gloss finish, which also has glass flake reinforcement for increased durability. Two pack polyurethane topcoats have excellent colour and gloss retention, to keep coated steelwork looking good for years to come. They also have good chemical resistance properties. Corroless™ ACO LV sealer

A highly specialised, high build, solvent free, two pack polyurethane coating for use with specified Corroless™ ACO products.  Use for the priming of concrete, plaster etc. prior to application of a Corroless™ ACO finishing system, or as a saturation coating for concrete.

Corroless™ ACO mastic standard grade

A solvent free, high build, two pack polyurethane mastic for steel, for the repair of pipe coatings and the coating of field joints. For faster-cure repairs use Corroless™ ACO mastic rapid grade. 

Corroless™ ACO mastic rapid grade

A solvent free, fast curing, two pack polyurethane repair mastic for pipe coatings. Use for the coating of field joints, repair of damaged coatings, filling of holes and cracks, on steel pipelines and other steel structures. This rapid grade is specifically developed for use at lower ambient temperatures. For temperatures above 25°C, the mastic standard grade should be used, as this rapid grade will be too fast curing.
