The Axalta Internship Program provides a meaningful professional experience for college and graduate students which is supported by a hands-on supervisor, a 1-to-1 mentoring relationship with a senior Axalta leader and a day-to-day associate to help with the daily maneuvering within our company.   To enhance the real-world experience, the Interns are provided with a unique project designed by the functional leadership that possesses true business value.  At the conclusion of the internship the interns are provided an opportunity to establish their own brand through a presentation demonstrating their impact at Axalta to senior leaders sharing the outcomes of their work on the project. 
 
The Internships will last a minimum of 10 weeks.  Preferred starting dates are at the end of May with the target completion timeframe in mid-August.  
 
This internship will report to the Global Technology Director at Axalta Coating Systems and has significant exposure to the company’s CTO, and other senior leaders. This internship will assist with the management of the technology process portfolio and enable the technology organization to deliver on programs in support of business growth objectives.
 
The position is based in our Philadelphia, PA headquarters. This internship does have the potential for full time placement upon successful conclusion.
 
 
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
·         Support overseeing the technology strategy development process which includes technology strategy process, effort to develop and refine strategy and implementation of steps and plans.
·         Support the review, update and management of key R&D/technology processes to grow revenue, reduce costs and improve efficiency.
·         Assist in managing external technology efforts with involvement from senior management which includes determining objectives, budget, timelines, project tasks, and facilitating communications within the plants.
·         Assist in monitoring and reporting: defining appropriate metrics and KPIs for technology effort and reporting progress.
·         Assist as a technical resource and responds to specialized questions/concerns regarding group project design and scope.

 
QUALIFICATIONS
·         Currently enrolled or recently graduated from a Master’s degree program with a concentration in business administration, finance, economics, mathematics or similar quantitative discipline.
·         Possess an undergraduate degree  in chemical engineering, chemistry or material science
·         Ability to commit to a minimum of 10 weeks
·         Proficient business analysis and excellent financial modeling skills, due diligence and merger integration.
·         Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to present to senior leadership
·         Strategic mindset, yet willingness and ability to roll up one’s sleeves and “get it done”
·         Superior problem solving and analytical skills (both quantitative and qualitative)
·         Ability to juggle multiple projects under tight time frames with impeccable attention to detail
·         Ability to work effectively and build strong relationships with peers
·         Ability to effortlessly flex from strategy to tactics
