Our Commercial Transportation group is currently seeking an Account Manager for the Oakland, California East Bay Area to represent Axalta at Customer Account.
 
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day to day activities within the customer account and support the total Commercial Transportation business. He/she will also be responsible for developing/selling new product introductions within the portfolio which will enhance our customers experience while also maintaining the day to day operations and providing feedback to supply chain and product management.
 
Additional responsibilities include:
 
  • Able to clearly understand customer unmet needs / gaps and identify the right solutions for specific situations.
  • Understand manufacturing process and identify  processes / products that will exceed customer expectations (Solution Based Selling)
  • Continue to fine tune account management principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Able to create and deliver compelling propositions and customer presentations.
 

Minimum Requirements:
 
  • Bachelor degree, preferably in Business, Marketing, or Science or 5 to 7 years of sales experience or other related work directly connected to the Commercial Finishes or OEM coatings business.
  • Computer skills including keyboard aptitude word processing, presentation software, spreadsheet and communications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to learn about and have working knowledge of Axalta productivity tools and possess the capability of improving customer’s proficiency, productivity, and profitability.
  • Capacity to maintain effective performance in customer production environment
  • Demonstrated customer focus, acting with a high sense of urgency.  Able to gather, assimilate, and act on customer requests and represent self in a professional manner.     
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to operate with minimal involvement of line management.
  • Ability to use problem-solving techniques to identify and resolve technical business issues.  This requires a solid understanding of customer requirements. 
  • Current customer on-site responsibilities would be an asset.
  • Capability to network both inside and outside Axalta, deploy necessary resources, and resolve problems in a cost-effective way.
  • Paint formulation or broad technical skills considered a plus.
  • Experience dealing and communicating across all levels of an organization.
