Global Product Stewardship (PS&R) Leader Full Time - Regular Philadelphia PA 3460
The Product Stewardship (PS&R) Leader will be responsible for leading and providing oversight to the product stewardship program through the development and implementation of standards, processes, practices, and initiatives to support and enable business objectives.  This individual will proactively seek to understand the corporate objectives and align product stewardship strategies to support these objectives.  This individual will also foster growth and innovation by analyzing megatrends, regulatory initiatives, and customer-driven product stewardship needs across the segments.  The competency leader will be responsible for leading the Global Product Stewardship and Regulatory Affairs Competency Network to advance key programs and initiatives in this competency.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead the program restructuring effort to align with overall business strategy
  • Develop new or revised corporate standards for the competency
  • Lead the Product Stewardship Network and develop resources within this competency
  • Provide guidance to the regional and functional teams
  • Align our PS&R Program with the requirements under ACC’s Responsible Care Program
  • High-level interaction with other functions as part of Axalta’s Responsible Care and Sustainability Councils to support the PS&R program’s operations around ACC compliance and sustainable business practices
  • Provide guidance to the appropriate functions on how new standards/legislation will impact our business operations and our overall strategy for PS&R
  • Be an active member of the Global Leadership Team for EHS&S and PS&R
  • Responsible for overseeing verification / audits to confirm our performance and compliance against program metrics and goals, internal company requirements, and regulations in an effort to drive continual improvement
  • Collaboratively develop strategic initiatives and translate broad strategies into specific objectives and action plans, as well as align the organization to support strategic priorities
  • Stay abreast of strategic social and regulatory trends and impending actions that may have an impact on company, products, process and markets and advises senior management of such
  • Provide key insights into corporate advocacy objectives and strategies
  • Guide efforts to identify and implement consistent best practices from the standpoint of effective and efficient tools, practices and processes
  • Develop key metrics to evaluate the program’s performance related to addressing product risks, program alignment with other business functions, regulatory and customer requirements
  • Ensure necessary information systems and tools are in place and maintained to meet requirements for Product and Global Chemical Data Management and Reporting
  • Responsible for Product Stewardship Incident Investigation and Reporting Process to identify and analyze root cause

Professional Qualifications:
  • Bachelor or Master degree in Science (e.g. Chemistry, Biology, Toxicology) or Engineering
  • Advanced degree (PhD) and relevant certifications preferred
  • 5-10 years of work experience in a product stewardship program function
  • 10+ years of work experience in the coatings and/or similar specialty chemicals industry
  • Prior direct and indirect managerial responsibility preferred
  • Experience with global product management and product development processes
  • Proven ability to think strategically and complete strategic assessment of regulatory, business and market trends
  • Demonstrated ability to make improvements to work processes in a clear and concise manner
  • Assessment and interpretation of complex regulatory and market drivers and their effect on product lines and growth and innovation initiatives together with their potential for creating market opportunities
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively through all levels of an organization
  • Development and deployment of effective communication strategies, with the ability to lead, motivate and participate in diverse, cross-geographic teams
