Axalta congratulates the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team and Lewis #HAMIL7ON on making #HIS7ORY

BASEL, SWITZERLAND – 19 November 2020 – Axalta (NYSE: AXTA), a leading global supplier of liquid and powder coatings, congratulates the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team on becoming the 2020 FIA Formula OneTM World Constructors’ Champions^*, which was secured at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix on 1 November 2020 in Imola, Italy. This is the seventh consecutive Constructors’ title the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team has won, making history by setting a new world record for the most consecutive Constructors’ Championships ever to be won by a team in the sport.

On 15 November 2020 at the Turkish Grand Prix, driver Lewis Hamilton also secured his seventh FIA Formula One™ World Drivers’ Championship title*. This win means Hamilton is only the second driver in the sport’s history to become a seven-time World Champion equalling Michael Schumacher’s impressive tally. It also makes the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team the first in the history of the sport to win both titles seven times in a row.
