Ross Dalrymple: Leading With Support and Care
Ross Dalrymple is the Site Manager at Mt. Clemens, with a strong background in chemical engineering and manufacturing leadership. During his time at Axalta, he has led teams across operations, production, and engineering, supporting performance and continuous improvement.
A Michigan native, Ross earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Wayne State University and a B.A. in Chemistry from Kalamazoo College. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling to Northern Michigan, and running his small family business, a local frozen custard shop.
Ross is a hands‑on, safety‑first leader who values clarity, consistency, and staying connected across all shifts so employees feel respected and included.
A Note From Ross
When I first joined this site in 2014 as a process engineer, one thing became clear very quickly: the success of this plant comes from the people doing the work every day. I spent time across all shifts listening, learning, and working alongside many of you. The improvements we made in safety, quality, and productivity happened because of strong relationships and mutual respect.
Last year, I made the decision to come back to Axalta and to Mt. Clemens. I was welcomed home to a place where people speak openly, challenge ideas, and work together to solve problems. I’m excited about the opportunity we have to continue to build on this culture!
As I shared when I stepped into this role a few weeks ago, I believe in being present, approachable, and engaged. That means spending time on the floor, keeping my door open, and creating opportunities for honest dialogue like with the policy review committee. I expect the same mindset from our leadership team.
Mt. Clemens has a strong foundation, and I truly believe this site will continue to be a flagship for innovation and productivity within Axalta.
You may have heard that on March 11, a petition was filed to begin the process for a union election covering part of our site. I believe a union could make it harder for us to maintain the kind of direct dialogue that has always helped this plant succeed. For that reason, I encourage you to participate in the election and vote NO – every vote matters!
Throughout this process, I am committed to supporting you and ensuring every employee is treated with respect and has access to accurate information. If you have questions or concerns, please reach out to HR, your manager, or come talk with me directly.
Thank you,
Ross Dalrymple
