A Note From Paola
I want to take a moment to connect with you about something I know many of you have been hearing about and may have questions about. On March 11, the UAW submitted a petition to begin the process for a union election at our Mt. Clemens site. We have confirmed the UAW petition includes both the technology lab and our operations team.
While we work closely alongside operations, I believe our technology team has a distinct role, unique priorities, and different ways of working. Because of that, I feel it’s important that you have the opportunity to make decisions that truly reflect how we work and what matters most to you. With that in mind, I strongly encourage you to participate in the election and vote NO on April 14–15, so you can continue to use your individual voice.
I also recognize that this process may be new for many of you, and it’s completely normal to have questions. To help ensure you have clear, accurate information, I’m making sure we offer informational sessions for you and your teams. These sessions will be led by an independent third‑party consultant and will provide an open forum to learn more about what unionization could mean for your day‑to‑day work experience. While attendance is voluntary, I truly encourage you to join and ask questions.
We’ve also created a website with additional information to support you in making the decision that’s right for you and your family: Own Your Future, Use Your Voice (axalta.com/yourfuture)
Additionally, I wanted to make you aware that we are required by law to share your personal contact information with the NLRB and UAW. The UAW has been known to conduct home visits and send printed and / or digital communication to employees.
Finally, as we move through this election period together, I’ve decided to postpone our bi‑monthly town hall so we can stay focused on ensuring everyone has the time, space, and information they need during this important moment.
Please know that my door is always open. If you have questions or simply want to talk things through, I encourage you to reach out to me, your manager, or HR at any point during this process.
Thank you for your continued commitment and for staying engaged as we navigate this together.
Warm regards,
Paola Morales
