Axalta recently returned from a successful 2018 SEMA Show exhibition at the Las Vegas Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada. The exhibit’s program featured appearances by top automotive builders, artists, and special guests to showcase refinish and original equipment (OE) coatings and color.
Featured in the Axalta booth were two award-winning, custom refinished vehicles: a 1942 Chevrolet Truck by Big Oak Garage and a 1936 Ford Roadster by Dale Boesch. Chevrolet presented Will Posey of Big Oak Garage the 2018 Chevrolet Design Award – Classic of the Year, while Dale Boesch made the SEMA Top 12, Top 3 of the Hot Rod Category, in the 2018 Battle of the Builders for his 1936 Ford Roadster.
Headlining the week’s event schedule was the unveil of Nevermore, a stunning work of fine art created by “Impossibly Real” artist Peter Maier and co-creator Andrew “Pooch” Cappuccio using Cromax® refinish paint. The pair greeted attendees and autographed reproductions of the piece for the first 150 in line.
