Workforce Diversity

With more than 13,000 employees and contractors around the world, Axalta enjoys the scale to attract and retain great people. Axalta is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to a diverse workforce. We believe that diversity comes in many forms: nationality, culture, age, and gender, among other criteria, contribute to the diverse workforce at Axalta. As a global company doing business in more than 130 countries, diversity of culture is extremely important. We must understand our customers, how they do business, and the norms and traditions in which they operate. To do this, our workforce must reflect theirs with a deep and meaningful understanding of local culture. With the exception of a few members of senior management, all employees are citizens of the countries in which they work, showing Axalta’s commitment to local hiring.

In addition to cultural diversity, other diversity metrics are important at Axalta as well. As of the first quarter of 2016, women make up 21 percent of Axalta’s workforce; however, hiring trends show that the number has increased to 28 percent for recently hired employees. We also have a diverse breadth of experience in our company. Nearly 48 percent of our workforce is over the age of 45 and 22 percent are under 34, providing a strong pipeline of future leaders around the world.

As of year end 2015, approximately 65 percent of Axalta’s global workforce has union or works council representation. Relationships with these organizations are professional and productive with a focus on ensuring that our employees have a workplace that is safe, develops their career goals, and provides meaningful work. We challenge our represented organizations to join us in thinking about our customers first, one of Axalta’s values, and making their success a priority. Having all employees, unions, and work councils understand that when the customer succeeds so do we is an important part of our company.
