Tyvek protective garments provide protection from a wide range of outside contaminants.. The Tyvek fabric, with its high protection properties, coupled with the lightness and breathability that make it comfortable for the wearer, is ideally suited to the manufacture of protective garments for paint applicators In paint surface preparation.
Tyvek garments protect the wearer against fine silica dust, caustic materials, cleaning agents and corrosive chemicals. During paint spraying, they protect the skin from organic solvents and spray droplets. As no fibres or dust are generated by Tyvek, and as it contains no silicon, the paint surface will not be contaminated. Comprehensive testing has shown that Tyvek can be used with isocyanate-based paints, under proper conditions.
Tyvek Coveralls also protect against electrostatic charging. In addition, particle barrier testing has also demonstrated that Tyvek creates a barrier to micron sized aerosols. Tyvek is extremely light and strong yet is sufficiently permeable to air and water vapour to limit heat stress and discomfort. If conditions during the spray operation do result in excessive wetting of the garment with overspray and back splatter the Coveralls may lose some of their protective and comfort properties. However, this is a very unusual occurrence and is eliminated with a well designed spray booth.
Tyvek is 100% HDPE for easy recycling. Coveralls are available in sizes M to XXL. For great protection with superior comfort Tyvek is the only choice. Tyvek® Coveralls are available from all Axalta Coating Systems Distributors.
