Training NSW Visit During National Skills Week!

We were pleased to again partner with Training Services NSW and welcome a new group of 15 school students from south-western Sydney with their 4 teachers, to our regional training facility in Marsden Park for a one-day introduction to vehicle painting in August.

This was in line with National Skills Week, which celebrates and highlights the talents, the skills, the career pathways and values of Vocational Education and Training (VET).

The high school students enjoyed a full day introduction to vehicle refinishing, which included vehicle painting demonstrations, practice using a Virtual Reality (VR) paint simulator, colour matching using the latest tools and technologies, as well as a brief overview on automotive courses from a TAFE NSW representative.

In partnering with Training Services NSW to open our doors for these students, this enables students to experience what a career in automotive repair might look like, all whilst demonstrating some of the latest products and equipment. This is particularly insightful in times of limited work experience placements and Covid-related restrictions.

Paul Polverino, Axalta’s Training Manager, was extremely impressed by the enthusiasm of all the students.  “Due to overwhelming demand, we were pleased to host a second group of students. They saw first-hand an exciting, live practical demonstration and experienced what happens in a real bodyshop,” he said.

We look forward to inviting the students back for some hands-on training experience shortly!
