Axalta has extended its proven ValueShade® concept to Standox and Spies Hecker undercoats, providing bodyshops with a simple and effective way to optimise basecoat coverage, improve colour match accuracy and increase productivity.

Every quality repair starts with the right foundation. ValueShade® uses a simple seven-shade system to match the ideal undercoat to the final topcoat colour. By selecting the correct ValueShade®, refinishers can achieve faster hiding, improved colour consistency and a more efficient refinishing process while using less paint.

The system is designed to simplify stockholding and mixing, and the concept is based on light reflection. Just three undercoat colours – VS1 (white), VS4 (grey) and VS7 (black) – are intermixed to create all seven ValueShade® options, ensuring the ideal foundation for every repair.

More than 25 years after its introduction with Cromax, ValueShade® continues to help bodyshops reduce paint consumption, improve workflow and deliver the premium quality and productivity that Standox and Spies Hecker customers expect.

Customers should now see the new ValueShade® identification system within the colour retrieval software for Standox (Standowin IQ) and Spies Hecker (Phoenix).  Identification will be shown on the undercoat product labels in coming months.
