2017 Axalta Sustainability Award – More Than Being Green

Every year, through the sponsorship of the Axalta Sustainability Award, Axalta Coating Systems celebrates the best of the best in the industry, recognising hard work, innovation and strong sustainable business practices.

In 2017, our commitment to encouraging sustainable industry practices continues and strengthens with our sponsorship of the 2017 Axalta Sustainability Award and our role as one of two platinum sponsors of the Paint and Panel Bodyshop Awards 2017.

“As a global company, we strive to minimise the impact of our operations, and ensure that our products help our customers meet their own sustainability goals. The 2017 Axalta Sustainability Award is a perfect platform for us to demonstrate our dedication to supporting and encouraging a sustainable future for the industry,” says Managing Director of Axalta Coating Systems, Steven Brett.

Sustainability within the automotive repair industry is key but it is more than just about being green. Keeping up with staff training, developing forward-thinking business strategies, investing in new equipment, tools and processes to increase efficiency and looking to reduce waste and energy usage will strengthen bodyshops’ position in the market place, whilst helping to future proof our industry. Ingredients that were clearly demonstrated by 2016 Axalta Sustainability Award winner, Zagame Autobody.

Located in Melbourne’s former The Age Newspaper printing facility, Zagame’s vast premises have allowed them to service all facets of prestigious vehicle ownership from the dealership to the bodyshop. Services such as wheel alignments, car detailing, spot repair, genuine parts storage and refinishing - value-add solutions designed to create peace of mind for the customer and, in turn, lead to future car sales - “Zagame 360°-Experience.”

Last year judges, Neil Powell and Sam Street, viewed the Zagame Autobody “360°- Experience” model as a precursor to the bodyshop of tomorrow, today with sustainability at its heart.

The Axalta Sustainability Award recognises and celebrates forward-thinking businesses in the automotive repair industry.
